Since I&#8217;m on a Caitlyn Hunter kick currently and for the foreseeable future, naturally I went with her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ravelry.com\/patterns\/library\/kobuk\">Kobuk hat pattern<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/\/?attachment_id=2297\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2297\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2297\" src=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_20180802_072125_sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_20180802_072125_sm.jpg 600w, http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_20180802_072125_sm-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I knit this out of a skein of Berroco Peruvia that I got at a thrift store (one of our local yarn stores shuttered and their remaining stock went to this thrift store in Walnut Creek &#8211; I got a ton of patterns, magazines, and this yarn and only spent $14). This yarn is essentially roving &#8211; a single ply wool. I kind of hated working with it! Even on size US 10 needles it wasn&#8217;t super easy to work with. But I persevered and knit this guy up in a weekend. The finished product is quite nice and is a fun addition to my slowly growing collection of slouchy hats.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/\/?attachment_id=2298\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2298\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2298\" src=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_20180802_072136_sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_20180802_072136_sm.jpg 600w, http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/IMG_20180802_072136_sm-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I liked the texture and knitting the bobbles. I think they&#8217;re cute. The pom pom is one of the big bag of faux fur pom poms I ordered for like $16 off Amazon around Christmas time.
