I am beat!<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday Tara, Cindy, Julie and I headed up I-35 to Austin, the state capitol.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSC01193 by Pynnski, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pynnski\/2558886029\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3188\/2558886029_503a74e65a.jpg\" alt=\"DSC01193\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We just drove by the actual capitol &#8211; we had better things to do, such as stopping at Hill Country Weavers, where I totally gorged on sock yarn:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSC01190 by Pynnski, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pynnski\/2559710208\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3144\/2559710208_5f0236e8f7.jpg\" alt=\"DSC01190\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what I bought:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"mosaic6713643 by Pynnski, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pynnski\/2559772078\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3263\/2559772078_14b036e60c.jpg\" alt=\"mosaic6713643\" width=\"84\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nature&#8217;s Palette, Jitterbug, Araucania Ranco Multy, Araucania Ranco Multy, Jitterbug, and Malabrigo Worsted.<\/p>\n<p>I love Hill Country Weavers. If you are ever in Austin, you must stop there!<\/p>\n<p>The girls were pretty cool about me dragging them to a yarn store, since none of them knit.  I think part of it had to do with the intriguing Airstream right across the street:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"HEY CUPCAKE by Pynnski, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pynnski\/2558884795\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3167\/2558884795_b999776d6f.jpg\" alt=\"HEY CUPCAKE\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Did we totally partake of cupcakes following the yarning? Yes, yes we did.<\/p>\n<p>After that, we stopped at the huge Half Price Books on North Lamar, then headed back to San Antonio.<\/p>\n<p>And took a lot of pictures. I miss Texas a lot. But it was good to get home, especially when I knew this was waiting for me:<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"My New Eee PC by Pynnski, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/pynnski\/2558897449\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3185\/2558897449_f0fc9a2823_m.jpg\" alt=\"My New Eee PC\" width=\"180\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Note the chapstick for scale!) It&#8217;s my new tiny laptop, an Eee PC. I was hoping it would arrive prior to the trip, but it didn&#8217;t.  It&#8217;s Linux, which I was expecting to be difficult to get used to, but it&#8217;s easy and I love it.<\/p>\n<p>Now I am broke, but it was SO WORTH IT &#8211; the trip, the computer (though that was courtesy of the U.S. Government and their ESP [hahaha esp]), and seeing my best girlfriends. I am mentally recharged and ready to write &#8211; and finally finish a novel or too.<\/p>\n<p>Also: damn, June already?
