{"id":64,"date":"2008-06-21T09:15:23","date_gmt":"2008-06-21T16:15:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/?p=64"},"modified":"2010-06-24T15:34:21","modified_gmt":"2010-06-24T22:34:21","slug":"stash-enhancement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/2008\/06\/stash-enhancement\/","title":{"rendered":"Stash Enhancement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Do you remember at the beginning of the year, when I said to myself, &#8220;NO BUYING SOCK YARN!&#8221; Well, in anticipation of <a href=\"http:\/\/zarzuelaknitsandcrochets.com\/blog\/?cat=147\" target=\"_blank\">Summer of Socks 2008<\/a> (which I signed up for ages ago and completely forgot about and starts today, the first day of summer), I would like to present photographic evidence of the progression of the stash: It is either scary or awesome, depending on your point of view. (In other words, no buying sock yarn = big fat fail.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exhibit A (February 2007):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1033\/560721464_f3333edf19_m.jpg\" alt=\"State of the Sock Yarn Stash\" width=\"240\" height=\"178\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A respectable stash! Some good colors, quality yarn, something to be proud of.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exhibit B (August 2007):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm2.static.flickr.com\/1077\/1098766117_66918f17f7_m.jpg\" alt=\"Sock Yarn Stash as of 8.11.07\" width=\"240\" height=\"178\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Larger, but still respectable. A noticeable love of winding skeins into cakes is starting to come into light. (I bought my swift at Stitches West 2007).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exhibit C (June 2008):<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3127\/2596302585_b6b4c032a3_m.jpg\" alt=\"The State of the Sock Yarn Stash\" width=\"240\" height=\"180\" \/><\/p>\n<p>ZOMG I need to start knitting.<\/p>\n<p>If you click on the second two pictures, I have tagged them in Flickr with the different kinds of yarn.  I also maybe possibly made an order at the Loopy Ewe yesterday. OH SHUSH.<\/p>\n<p>However, may I present to you the latest in my upcoming interests:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-65\" title=\"harpheddle\" src=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/06\/harpheddle.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/06\/harpheddle.jpg 360w, http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/06\/harpheddle-300x150.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Yeah, my birthday is in two weeks, and I&#8217;m going to use birthday money to hella score a rigid heddle loom.  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.woolery.com\/Pages\/rigidheddle.html#kromksi\" target=\"_blank\">This particular model<\/a> has everything you could need, and folds up, and turns into a warping board. I&#8217;m really excited &#8211; I think it will be a great way to use some of the stash, and I&#8217;ve been really impressed with some of the weaving I&#8217;ve seen <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosmicpluto.com\/blog\/?p=826\" target=\"_blank\">around<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/lollygirl.com\/blog\/2008\/05\/19\/minou-wrap\" target=\"_blank\">the<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.sweetgeorgiayarns.com\/category\/weaving\/\" target=\"_blank\">internets<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ll recall, I&#8217;m definitely more of a product over process knitter, and weaving seems to me a great way to get a product, even if to set up it&#8217;s somewhat time consuming.
