If ever there was a person who loathed hot weather, it is me. Where is my delicious fall weather? Why isn&#8217;t it in the 50s and 60s? I mean, my air conditioner is on right now. It&#8217;s probably about 85 out there. You know how people get seasonal depression in the winter due to lack of sun and vitamin D? I get that in the summer due to too much sun and lack of layers to be worn. I&#8217;m definitely a homebody who likes to cozy up under a grey sky. Sheesh.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, so despite all that, I did go to the reservoir this morning with my dad for some sun and fresh air. So, points for me!<\/p>\n<p>I actually finished a long languishing project:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC03586.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-742\" title=\"DSC03586\" src=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC03586.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC03586.jpg 600w, http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC03586-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a>Yep, those are my King George mitts, knit in Malabrigo sock (love. it.) over a period of something like a year. Oy vey, self! Once I cracked down and remembered what the eff I was doing, it only took about two evening in front of the TV to finish up the second mitt.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC03588.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-743\" title=\"DSC03588\" src=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC03588.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC03588.jpg 600w, http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/10\/DSC03588-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a>They feature a turned hem, the King Charles Brocade lace panel from the Harmony guides lace book, a thumb gusset and 1&#215;1 ribbing on the thumb and finger openings. I was thinking of writing up a pattern for them, but they actually need some work because the panel isn&#8217;t quite centered and I had forgotten what I did in the length of time between mitt #1 and mitt #2, and frankly I&#8217;m pretty sick of them so I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s going to happen.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from being so tired of them, I do like how they turned out &#8211; that Malabrigo sock sure is great, as though we all needed any reminding about that one.<\/p>\n<p><em>Next up: I have Wollmeise in my hot little hands for the very first time!<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"wp_fb_like_button\" style=\"margin:5px 0;float:none;height:30px;\"><script src=\"http:\/\/connect.facebook.net\/en_US\/all.js#xfbml=1\"><\/script><fb:like href=\"http:\/\/melissaruth.com\/blog\/2010\/10\/warm-wrists-warm-weather\/\" send=\"false\" layout=\"standard\" width=\"450\" show_faces=\"false\" font=\"arial\" action=\"like\" colorscheme=\"light\"><\/fb:like><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The weather has been heating up here lately, much to my dismay.
