An FO and a Bacon Bag

I finished the Waving Lace Socks:

Waving Lace Socks

They are awesome and I love them. Will I make this pattern a fourth time? Undoubtedly! It’s beautiful – and I think it would knit up nicely in a happy yellow. I’m glad I went slightly nuts at Christmas time because I have about five more colors to choose from (chinese red, lily/yellow, wasabi/green, sky blue, and orchid) for future socks.

Now I am working on the second Spey Valley sock while I try to decide what pattern I want to knit next. I could just pull a pattern from the tin and knit that but I don’t wanna. I think it will probably come down to Mingus or Rivendell.

If I pick Rivendell it will be in the Araucania Ranco Multi, and if I pick Mingus it will be in Dream in Color Smooshy. Despite my constant yarn purchasing, I really am trying to use the ole stash yarns. *cough* REALLY *coughcough*

I still have to work on the pink stripey Felici socks and the Tofutsies socks but they’re pretty easy. I think I’m on the heel of the Tofutsies socks.

In other news, to reward myself for suffering through stupid Atkins, I got myself this bag at Target:

Atkins Bag

It is pretty silly, but I still love it anyway. It will be good to take on the plane stuffed with books. Mmm, eggs.

PHP makes a girl cry.

Whoa, Nellie, just upgraded to WordPress 2.5. PHP is just… so… confusing. Since I have K2 installed as my template/design, it just fucked everything right up!

…All I am trying to do is get WordPress to email me my comments so I can email people back! I generally reply in the comments section but not everybody goes back to check those (I know I don’t).

Waah. I have no idea if the comments will be emailed to me (they never have been!). So know that I love comments and that I reply in the comments to your comments! I just said comments way too many times.

Now that I have broken my blog (again) and fixed it (again), I am going to eat lunch.

(Never mess with PHP on an empty stomach!!)

EDIT: Upgrading magically made the comments get emailed to me. SO, I think I can safely chalk that up to A) upgrading and B) switching hosts in February because the old database sucked. (THERE I SAID IT: SUCKED.)

In One Ear

Lately, I’ve been noticing that a lot of people are posting about the books they are reading for the summer, for pleasure, for whatever. I have noticed one consistent similarity throughout all these posts and that is this: I will probably never read those books. I am not a Grapes of Wrath sort of girl.

I am a romance/zombies/Templars/fantasy/dinosaurs kind of girl:

Current TBR

Okay, there are no dinosaur books in that TBR pile, but only because I can’t find Tyrannosaur Canyon at the moment. As soon as I dig it out from under my bed, there it will go!

What are you reading?

I have completed my first week of Atkins. It has kind of sucked, but not too hard. I am not crazy-hungry like the last time I did this. I feel healthier, like my system is restarting itself and has purged most of the junk out of it. Next weekend I’ll be done with Atkins and start Phase 2 of South Beach, which includes fruits and whole grains. I am not really missing bread or noodles or rice or whatever, but I’d like to have some fruits again, especially some Brooks cherries.

I have been eating a lot of brussel sprouts.

Two weeks till Texas!
